Dr. Anastasios Tranoulis is a Consultant Gynaecological  Surgeon with sub-specialisation in Gynaecological Oncology at the worldwide known Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London, The Pan-Birmingham Gynaecological Oncology Centre and The Basingstoke Peritoneal Malignancy Institute. He is certified as both a specialist Gynaecologist and sub-specialist Gynaecological Oncology Surgeon by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO).

Dr. Tranoulis underwent undergraduate training at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens before going on to post graduate Obstetrics & Gynaecology training at Alexandra University Hospital in Athens. He completed the RCOG Advanced Training Module (ATSM) in Gynaecological Oncology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital  and the RCOG-recognised sub-speciality Gynaecological Oncology fellowship at The Pan-Birmingham Gynaecological Cancer Centre. He is a certified robotic gynaecological surgeon by the Society of European Robotic Gynaecological Surgery (SERGS) and certified colposcopist by the British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP). He also completed the European School of Peritoneal Surface Oncology (ESPSO) fellowship at the prestigious Basingstoke Peritoneal Malignancy Institute.

Over the years, he worked closely with top Gynecological and Gynaecological Oncology Surgeons and gained proficiency in the whole spectrum of Obstetrics & Gynaecology with an emphasis on Gynaecological Oncology, Endometriosis, Robotic & Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Colposcopy, and Advanced Gynaecological Scanning. His principal area of clinical practice relates to minimal invasive surgery (robotic/ laparoscopic) for complex benign conditions (endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, pelvic organ prolapse), and radical & ultra-radical surgery for gynaecological cancer. Moreover, Dr. Tranoulis was extensively trained in pioneering techniques, such as sentinel lymph node mapping, cytoreductive surgery for advanced ovarian cancer, hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC), exenterative surgery for advanced and relapsed gynaecological cancer, reconstructive surgery, and fertility-sparing surgery for young women with gynaecological cancers. 

Dr. Tranoulis obtained a MSc in reproductive endocrinology and a PhD (cum laude) grade in research involving the psycho-physiological and genetic background of functional hypothalamic amenorrhoea. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Medical School of National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has an active research portfolio and has authored more than 20 PubMed indexed scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals and 8 book chapters. He has delivered numerous presentations in national and international congresses and regularly lectures on various aspects of gynaecological oncology surgery at relevant training courses.
